Hi! Im Kayla. Full time adventurer, dirtbag climber, dog mom, mud enthusiast, and lover of all things…well love.

After working in Tourism & Adventure Photography for a number of years the transition to Elopements just seemed right. A self proclaimed Ted mosby type of sorts there is nothing that brings me more joy than watching people’s love stories unfold. But I thought, there is something missing—why are there not enough options for those of us who truly want an adventure to start our forever adventure—your love story

So myself, my best friends, and some some of the raddest guides I know scoured our favorite mountain destinations, crags, and secret spots and decided to create Adventure Pact. All of us truly believe that the best place to spend the most precious moments of your life are outside, in the mountains, and that there is no better place to say “I do” and celebrate life than in the great outdoors.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • why the Name Adventure Pact?

This is my favorite question! And TBH, the answer is pretty darn cute. Have you ever seen the movie UP? If you have you probably don’t need to ask further but if you have not well it goes a little something like this.

The main Character Carl is on a mission to get his house to Paradise Falls (a fictional place in South America) because him and his deceased wife, Ellie, had made a pact in their hideaway as children to go there. Eventually Carl, in his old age, is successful in getting his home to the falls (with the help of balloons) but not before finding a photo album of his and Ellie’s life together.

Written in the album is “ Thanks for the adventure— now go have a new one”.

The simple act that Ellie believed that her life with Carl was the greatest adventure of them all….well that’s just it.

Your greatest adventure will be the love you share together…It is your Adventure Pact.

  • What is the difference between eloping, microweddings and a traditional wedding? Do you do both?

An elopement is a more intentional and adventurous way of getting married. Generally less stressful, with less people (or just the couple) and involving activities that are unique to you as a couple eloping is a great way to start off your forever adventure!

Many People choose to Elope just the two and then have a reception with friends at a later time.

BUT…dont worry if that’s not for you. If youre more of a big party surrounded by friends and family to celebrate your commitment to your partner we totally can capture your wedding too!

Here at Adventure Pact we qualify Microweddings as weddings with 30 people or less

  • Where do you offer elopements and honeymoons?

Adventure Pact specializes in the following locations as they are our backyard, playground, and favorite places to go that we know inside and out:

    Utah | Colorado | Nevada | Hawaii | California | Alaska | Washington | Idaho | Wyoming | Arizona | North Carolina | Tennessee

International: Peru | Ecuador | Patagonia | Panamá | Bolivia | Costa Rica

That being said we are down to go ANYWHERE you want to go! Check out our travel schedule here

  • Do you actually offer All Inclusive Elopements?

Simple put YES (less your flights). While many other photo/planning teams only offer assistance in planning we have options for those looking to just sit back and relax and go on a pretty sweet adventure together.

Our All inclusive packages include hair/makeup, florals, photo, a video short, small cake and picnic, adventure activity of your choice, officiant and marriage certificate signing. In the USA we dont include lodging, international we DO.

  • I’m not great in front of the camera, what if my photos turn out bad?

Derp, Derp hard. Or as one of my best friends says “be a-derp-able”. Its totally normal to feel a little weird when someone is sticking a camera in your face but dont worry…Im here to give gentle posing cues, make you laugh and get you to loosen up so that your true self shines through in photos!

  • How does this legally work?

Eloping is similar to getting married! Just much more intimate and personal. I (Kayla!) am ordained and able to legally sign your paperwork for marriages between US citizens in most states. We have a network of officiants in the ones where I am unable to perform ceremonies.

As for bi-national weddings. If you and your partner are from one of the Adventure Pact destination countries (Ecuador, Peru, Panama) my team has an extensive list of lawyers and associates that can help process your visa paperwork.

If you are not from one of our destination countries your best route of action is to do the legal stuff (signing your marriage certificate) in your home country before or after the ceremony! If you would like to be legally married “on-ground” many places in the USA (if youre not a US Citizen), as well as Iceland, Costa Rica, Denmark, Italy and Mexico are relatively easy to legally say I DO in.

Remember just because you don’t make it legally official the day you say “I do” doesn’t make it any less special. Religious or commitment ceremonies on a different day are quite common and even more special than the day you sign on the dotted line!

  • Do you offer payment plans?

    Yes!

Elopements (and our honeymoons too!) tend to be not only a more fun but an more affordable option and we are able to make it even easier by offering payment installments that can extend as far as up to two months AFTER your day (before photos are delivered)

  • Do you charge travel fees?

We DO NOT charge travel fees for any locations on our current travel schedule. If you would like a location not on our schedule we offer a flat travel fee of + $700 for USA based or $1500 for international
