Patagonia Elopement & Honeymoon
Every once in a while I come across a couple that believes that really you only live once and that GOING BIG is the only option
When I first spoke to N + J they just asked for a few things:
epic photos
an epic expeirence in Patagonia
that N’s daughter could be there
I ADORE when I get the go ahead to go all in and plan something with full trust in the process.
and OH MAN WAS IS EPIC
3 cities, 3 flights, 10 days—And of course, a load of adventure
starting in the air exploring Tierra del Fuego
After 3 days of hiking, making friends with some penguins and flying around the end of the world we headed north to explore Torres del Paine
Wedding day meant an early rise for get glam for the day. After some sleepless hours and a broken down van we eventually made it to our hiking location for the elopement.
Now, you don’t elope in Patagonia unless you’re really up for any sort of weather and a heck of a lot of wind.
This day was no exception.
As we arrived skies were overcast but no rain was falling so we decided to start hiking. As we strolled along the trail, stopping to gaze at a stunning blue falls and in search of the perfect spot to say I DO, the skies opened up
and it kept raining, and raining, and raining some more
There comes a time when you can either keep waiting for things to get better or you can just make the most of your situation…a lesson in life.
So , after getting soaked to the bone both N + J said screw it and exchanged vows as the rain came down. Droplets smearing the ink on the pages of where their vows were written and loosening the curls on N’s head.
One of the things J & N said about each other on our initial consultation before any of this even started was that they both maintain a level joy and calm even when things arent “perfect” because in a way, they always are….especially when they’re together
The unvierse really has a way of blessing people wioth this level of stoked and high for life. Todays blessing..
CLEAR SKIES YALL
well, sort of
As we made our way back down the trail towards the van the clouds started moving and not only did we get sun but a carwash drier, gale force type of wind that took our rain soaked clothes and dried them in a whole 5 minutes flat.
Now an adventuremoon isn’t really an adventuremoon with only a couple days of adventure. Aside from a helicopter tour and pretty rad (albeit crazy) elopement, this little family also got to hike, explore a glacier, see wildlife, and bike.
As our trip came to an end and our last hike day approached N + J decided to end on a heartfelt note and bring their family together by writing vows to N’s daughter…
…his new daughter. Early in the AM, while being swept away by more Patagonian wind, freezing, and trembling he vowed to take care of her, to be there for the big moments and the small ones, to be her bonus dad and to support her for the rest of his days
